To: High school students attending the State FFA Convention & Parents
From: Doug Pennington
I am excited that your son/daughter will be attending the state convention. We will be attending the State FFA Convention on March 10-12.
On Wednesday, March 10, we will be leaving at 7:00 a.m. from the high school. On Wednesday morning we will be watching the leadership contests. At 11:30 Hannah & Sydney & Amber will be trying out for talent at the Room 12 of the auditorium. On Wednesday afternoon we will be attending leadership workshops, a convention session and registering for the convention. At the Wed. afternoon 4:15 session the academic excellence award winners (Marci, Sloan, Dewain & Diamond) will receive their awards. Wednesday evening, we will be attending the first convention session (Outstanding Juniors- Amber, Elaine, Diamond and Sydney will be recognized at this session- anyone coming to watch should meet us by 6:45 p.m. in the lobby of the Wharton Center). Those parents who are going to attend the Outstanding Junior Banquet, it will be in Shaw Hall in the cafeteria starting at 5:45.
On Thursday (bright and early) we will be attending the state leadership contests. At the 3:00 session Marci will be receiving the State FFA Degree. The State Degree banquet will be at 4:45 in the Shaw Hall cafeteria.
On Friday, we will finish attending the final convention session and will return to the high school by about 1:00 p.m.
They only need money for meals, about $45-$50 for spending money (we will be going to the mall), and $ ______ for the convention costs (amount not covered by their dollar bank). I would like the money they owe for the trip by Monday, March 8. They need to bring their medical release/permission slip forms in order to attend the convention (I have most of them already).
