Olivet Community Schools

Superintendent News...

As your Superintendent of schools, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I graduated from Olivet High School in 1982 and from Olivet College in 1986 with a combined degree in Math and Computer Science. I have recently completed my final class at Western Michigan University for my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.  I am also enrolled in the Courageous Journey program through MASA (Michigan Association of School Administrators) which will provide me with an additional specialty administrative endorsement above my Master’s degree, exceeding the state’s superintendency requirement.
I am a long time Olivet resident and have worked in the district for 8 years.  I was hired in 2004 as the middle school Administrative Assistant to replace Marilyn Rutter when she retired.  In 2007, the district’s focus on data was evolving and my role transitioned to the Director of Data Management and Instructional Technology as my degree and background was a good fit for this position.  In 2010, I was asked to serve as the Director of Technology, Operations and Data.  Mid-school year, in January of 2010, I added the middle school Co-Principalship to my responsibilities. In 2011, I was promoted as the Director of Technology, Operations, and Data and the Interim Assistant Superintendent. During my time in Olivet, I have accumulated a great deal of experience in all aspects of the district and its operation, and have been involved in every major decision for the past several years.
My high school sweetheart and husband, David Judd, and I have been married for 26 years. We have four children ages 24, 22, 19, and 16. The oldest three graduated from Olivet High School and our youngest will be a junior this year.
