Olivet Child Care is located at Fern Persons Elementary School and is open to students in the Olivet School District attending grades K-5 at Fern Persons Elementary or Olivet Middle School. A shuttle bus service will be available to transport students in the 4th and 5th grades to the Middle School in the morning and to Child Care from the Middle School in the afternoon.

Olivet Child Care will begin on the first day of school and continue throughout the school year including early release days, half days of school, fog delays, snow days.   Child Care is closed during the following holidays; Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the Friday after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's and New Year's Day, and Memorial Day.   Christmas and spring break to be determined.

Childcare will be open during Summer Break and is available first for those who use our program during the school year. No drop offs.  Please call for availability as the number of children is limited.   Families who have used Child Care from the past summer will have the opportunity to sign up first.

Hours of operation are from 7:00am ~ 6:00pm. If you are in need of childcare services for the summer please call 269-749-4548 or email Teresa at: anderst@olivetschools.org . Your child will need a lunch with a drink. Childcare will provide a morning and afternoon snack.

Breakfast - On school days when there is no delay, children may purchase breakfast through the school breakfast program or bring in breakfast items from home. On days when there is no school or there is a delay, parents must provide breakfast for their children.

Lunch- On days when there is no school or there is a half day, parents must provide lunch for their children. There is a toaster, microwave, and refrigerator available for use.

Snack- Olivet Child Care provides a snack each afternoon prepared by the Food Service Department of Olivet Community Schools. Fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and prepackaged foods with long storage dates will be served along with milk or juice. (Parents may provide special snacks for birthdays, but arrangements should be made in advance.)

Full school Day (during school year)

6:30 am- 8:30 am and 3:45 pm-6:30 pm

Early Release Days

1:45pm - 6:30pm

Two Hour Delay Days (fog/bad weather) Breakfast will not be served

6:30 - 10:30 a.m. and 3:45 - 6:30 p.m.

Half Days

6:30 - 8:30 a.m. and 11:45 - 6:30 p.m. (students must bring a lunch)

No School and Snow Days *

6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. (no breakfast served and students must bring a lunch)

*Child Care will be open on snow days if at all possible.

Please note on half days or no school/snow days, children will need a sack lunch for child care.

Rates are determined on free/reduced lunch status:

• Full Price Lunch - $3.50 per hour

• Free/Reduced Lunch - $3.00 per hour

• $2.75 per hour additional children in a family

We will bill DHS if your child qualifies. Provider ID number is available upon request.
