In the fall of 2021, Olivet Community Schools began the process of developing a new strategic plan for the school district. The development of this plan will be a critical step in ensuring the success of our school district for the next several years. Throughout this process we have celebrated all of the positive accomplishments of our district while looking to the future including putting new goals in place to guide our next steps.

This strategic plan is the result of a collaborative process including a wide range of stakeholders. Students, staff, teachers, parents, building administrators, central office, community members, and members of our Board of Education formed an Advisory Team and were involved in developing our new strategic plan. These committee members met five times over the winter to create our vision and mission for the future, establish focus areas, and recommend goals for each focus area. Meetings were facilitated by John Silveri, Michigan Leadership Institute, Regional President, Southeast Michigan.

The Advisory Team developed three focus areas: Instructional Improvement & Innovation, Social Emotional Support, and Real-World Learning/College & Career Readiness. Each of these goal areas have been further refined by subcommittees to include objectives, specific actions for implementation, progress indicators, and responsibilities/ownership.

The Advisory Team did an outstanding job in developing the Olivet Community Schools Strategic Plan for 2022-2025. Much more than a document to post on a website or to place in a binder, we are looking for the strategic plan to be a guiding force as we move forward united in our mission to provide, “Challenging academics and diverse opportunities in a safe and supportive environment”.
