Mental Health

We are excited to announce that on Thursday, December 8th, we will host a guest presenter and the viewing of a documentary entitled "Do It For Daniel" for students in grades 8-12 and all families and other community members.  The presentation is given by Jeff Olson, whose son Daniel lost his battle with anxiety and depression at age 19. The documentary was created to educate individuals about the impact depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses have on people and their families, and to start to create dialogue.

During the day 8th - 12th grade students will see the presentation, and we are hosting a parent session in the evening at 6:00 PM for all parents and families in the district.  We will have an informational booths set up in the lobby for parents to talk to support agencies and collect information beginning at 6:00.  The presentation will begin at 6:30.  Counselors will also be available for this session.

Please read the OCS Family Letter: Mental Health Presentation 11.2022 for more information and resources being provided.  We are also providing the promotional flier and What Others are Saying document.

The mental health and safety of our students and children is one we cannot wait to address, and it is never too early for parents to be informed.  We hope you will all join us for the family and community presentation, and invite others to come with you.

Thank you,
